School Clubs Program

Our youth-led team built a FREE toolkit to help you create a middle-school or high school Climate Club at your school, modeled after the same values and organization as the Arizona Youth Climate Coalition.

What is a Climate Club?

An AZYCC Climate Club acts as a foundation for activism at your middle or high school. With direct contacts and affiliation with AZYCC, you can utilize our resources for your local action.

Our school clubs program allows youth who don’t have time to commit to the organization but want to still be involved in the movement participate in environmental activism within the place they know best - school.

What does the toolkit include?

  • A curated selection of event ideas and themes designed to engage students in climate action, including lesson-ready workshops, community cleanups, and advocacy campaigns focused on local climate policy and equity. Each idea includes objectives, materials, step-by-step plans, and customization tips to match different grade levels, club sizes, and campus cultures.

  • The toolkit includes a directory of AZYCC’s national network of environmental contacts including names, roles, and areas of expertise, PLUS guidance on when and how to engage each contact for policy advocacy, campaign partnerships, media outreach, and resource sharing. It also provides templated email scripts, outreach timelines, and a quick-reference flowchart to help organizers connect with the right people efficiently.

  • The AZYCC School Club Toolkit integrates state and local climate policy education with hands-on science activities, giving students practical experience in data collection, interpretation, and civic engagement. By linking classroom experiments to real-world policy solutions, the toolkit empowers youth to apply scientific evidence when advocating for climate action in their communities.
