A curated selection of event ideas and themes designed to engage students in climate action, including lesson-ready workshops, community cleanups, and advocacy campaigns focused on local climate policy and equity. Each idea includes objectives, materials, step-by-step plans, and customization tips to match different grade levels, club sizes, and campus cultures.
AZYCC’s National Network of Environmental Contacts
The toolkit includes a directory of AZYCC’s national network of environmental contacts including names, roles, and areas of expertise, PLUS guidance on when and how to engage each contact for policy advocacy, campaign partnerships, media outreach, and resource sharing. It also provides templated email scripts, outreach timelines, and a quick-reference flowchart to help organizers connect with the right people efficiently.
COMBINING POLICY WITH SCIENCE LEARNING
The AZYCC School Club Toolkit integrates state and local climate policy education with hands-on science activities, giving students practical experience in data collection, interpretation, and civic engagement. By linking classroom experiments to real-world policy solutions, the toolkit empowers youth to apply scientific evidence when advocating for climate action in their communities.
